Kookaburra Hideaway is nestled into the beautiful Hunter Valley countryside on 25 acres, with views to the Brokenback Mountains surrounded by open countryside and neighbouring vineyards. This is a brand new fabulous 4 bedroom luxurious, architect designed house with cathedral ceilings, polished wooden floors, open courtyard and reverse cycle air conditioning. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms (2 with spa baths) and there are enormous verandas all round the house that spill out onto countryside and allow you to savour the wildlife that abounds. Whether you want to enjoy your own space or be part of a group of people sharing, there is plenty or room to relax. A peaceful and tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life and yet only minutes away from the famous Hunter Valley vineyards and attractions. Transportation - Kookaburra Hideaway Hotel Pokolbin

From Sydney¿ Head to Wahroonga & take the F3 north towards Newcastle. After driving for about 100km (1 hour) take the Cessnock exit. Follow the Cessnock signs through the town of Kearsley & on to Cessnock town centre. At Cessnock turn right at the traffic lights then travel along Vincent Street to the end. Turn left & then immediately right again into Allandale Road. The sign says BRANXTON, SINGLETON. Follow this road (it becomes Wine Country Drive) for 8km & you will see the Visitor Information Centre on your left. If it is open this is a good place to stop & collect information. There is also a coffee shop & public toilets. Or stay on Wine Country Drive for another 6 km, past Broke Rd, then past Palmers Lane, then McDonalds Rd. Drive over the long bridge at Black Creek & the next turn on the left is OLD NORTH ROAD. Turn left into this road & follow it for5.5 km. This end of the road is mostly not sealed but kept in good condition. Kookaburra Hideaway is on the left just after the sealed road begins. From the north... Pass through Singleton & head east towards Branxton on the New England Highway. The road opens into a new, concrete divided highway 15km from Singleton, & you want to turn first right after this new section starts into Hermitage Road. The signage says POKOLBIN. Go over the railway line & continue for approx 3.5km. Then turn left into OLD NORTH ROAD. This end of the road is sealed. Follow the road for 3.36km, and Kookaburra Hideaway is on your right, just opposite the sign that says "Gravel Road". From Windsor via the Putty Road¿ Follow the Putty Road north via Wilberforce towards Singleton. After about 2 hours driving take the turnoff on the right at Milbrodale (Milbrodale Rd): signposted for Broke & Wollombi. Follow this to the end & turn right & then left past the only Store & head towards Cessnock. After about 15 km turn left into Hermitage Road. Follow this for 9km & turn right into Old North RD. Kookaburra Hideaway is on the right.
