Accomodation at Amokura is therefore tailored to your wants and your needs, not prescribed by us. For a truly private retreat, we offer a self contained apartment. With open plan, spacious living and dining, a full kitchen with gas cooking, and two bedrooms, the apartment offers quiet privacy and relaxing seclusion. The bedrooms, as well as the living and dining areas, all face the lakefront, and enjoy panoramic views of the aptly named Remarkables mountain range overseeing the lake itself. This is truly a magnificent and unparalleled vista to wake up to, and to go to bed with. In warmer months, indoor air conditioning, and private outdoor decking, patio and lawns, make our apartment the perfect summer retreat. Secluded spaciousness encourages full enjoyment of the summer season, and allows patio breakfasts, lawn lunches, and deck dinners all to suit. On cooler days, gas fires, heat pumps, underfloor heating, and the highest standards of thermal insulation all ensure our apartment is the perfect winter haven after a day's skiing. Even better, our gas fired "hot water on demand" ensures endless hot water to help you recuperate from the slopes.

Nestled into a woodland hillside, Amokura is set on the Wakatipu lakefront, offering panoramic views from the Queenstown basin through to Walter Peak on the far side of the lake. Bordered on two sides by scenic and recreational reserve, Amokura offers a private, secluded location just 5 minutes from the heart of Queenstown. Or, on any one of Queenstown's gorgeous, warm days, the adjacent recreational reserve offers a 20 minute gentle walk - or 10 minute bike ride - to Queenstown through a woodland trail along the lake shore. Amokura's unique lakeside location offers unrivalled opportunities to participate in water sports: Sail into town in the morning, take lunch, enjoy a little shopping, before sailing back for a lazy afternoon picnicking on the beach at the bottom of our garden; Perhaps a fishing charter is more to your liking; walk through our garden down to the beach, where you can meet the charter boat and have your guide take you to some of the South's best fishing spots; Or for the more energetic; spend the day waterskiing or jet skiing, returning to the beach only long enough to recuperate and refuel the body between runs.
