You have sole guest status - you are the only guests and have the entire cottage and one acre of mature landscaped gardens to yourself for a unique and genuine Australian colonial heritage experience. The colonial c1859 heritage cottage is the only small B&B in York awarded listing on the State Register of Heritage Places. The heritage B&B cottage, although a separate building, is part of our family home. It offers comprehensive quality facilities for all seasons, hearty country cooked breakfasts and real Australian colonial history. Genuine colonial c1859 heritage. Quiet. Clean. Only 400m stroll to town.
The Heritage Cottage B&B is located close to the rear of the main house. It has its own entrance and offers complete privacy and secure on site parking. The c1859 colonial cottage provides first class quality facilities, one queen bed with doona and patchwork quilt, RC air conditioning, pot belly wood fire, ceiling fan, TV, CD, radio, magazines to peruse and complimentary welcome treats.
The enclosed rear verandah of the cottage provides a private ensuite and a small kitchen sink area with drink making facilities, a range of teas and coffees, cutlery, crockery, glasses and a bar fridge. The entire family home site, main building and cottage and grounds, is totally smoke free.
The tariff includes a hearty Australian country cooked breakfast comprising fresh fruit in season or home stewed fruits, orange juice, cereals (muesli, Weetbix, Weeties or porridge) and a selection of yoghurts. The main course is tomatoes, mushrooms and crispy bacon served with local farm-fresh free-range eggs poached, fried, scrambled or omelette (plain or with cheese and chives) with toasted home-baked multi-grain bread, a selection of jams and preserves and endless tea and coffee. Breakfast is served in the garden gazebo in fine weather or in the breakfast room of the main house by a warm pot belly in winter.

TO CELEBRATE OUR 150th ANNIVERSARY Wansbrough House and Grounds will be one of AUSTRALIA's OPEN GARDENS on 26 and 27 September 2009 from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm. Refreshments and local products will be for sale. Free guided mini-tours of the buildings will be available on the hour each day. Guided one hour street walks of the surrounding Blandstown Village Heritage Precinct will also be available for a small charge per person.

    Directions from Perth Airport: Head east towards Horrie Miller Dr - Turn left at Horrie Miller Dr - Turn left at Affleck Rd - Turn right toward King Rd - Continue straight onto King Rd - Turn right at Kalamunda Rd - Turn left at Abernethy Rd - Slight right to stay on Abernethy Rd - Turn right at Great Eastern Highway Bypass - Slight left at Roe Hwy - Turn right at Great Eastern Hwy - Great Eastern Hwy turns right at 'The Lakes' service station and becomes Great Southern Hwy Wansbrough House Heritage Cottage B&B is located at the southern end of the York townsite in semi-rural historic Blandstown Village Heritage Precinct which is the oldest settled part of York. When you cross the rail line when you arrive at York turn right (south) on Avon terrace towards Beverley. Go about 400m to Bland Bridge. It is on the left (east) on Avon Terrace adjacent to Bland Bridge and on Bland Brook. It is an easy stroll to the town centre.
