Valuable artifacts of the government, economy, and military bases, which occupied the area from the 7th century, hold significant cultural value and have been designated as National Treasures. In 1583 the most powerful clan in the area built Uedajo Castle, which became the center of industry, economy, and transportation that in effect made this town into a 'Castle Town'.
