From Auckland, head south on State Highway 1. (Southern Motorway) Turn east onto State Highway 2 south of the Bombay Hills, and then left again onto State Highway 25, following signage to Coromandel Peninsula After the Kopu Bridge, (single lane) turn right at the service station, then left within a kilometer onto State Highway 25a to Whangamata. Cross the ranges, and turn right to Whangamata at Hikuai. Go through the forest for about 15 minutes and as you come down onto the flats look for the sign to Opoutere it's a left turn beside an old hall. We are 800 metres along there on the right. From the south, drive from Waihi to Whangamata and keep going north the turn to Opoutere is 10km north of Whangamata
