Hotel Overview : Santa Maria Motel RotoruaThe property has stood in Rotorua since 1939, the units were all added in later years. The Motel, one of the most established, is one of Rororua's most iconic Motels and is known for it's huge Summer display of plants and flowers. It is know as "The motel with the Roses". Some of our customers have been coming back for 30+ years, and even the young people from 30 years ago are now bringing thier children here. It has a good mixture of both studio units and our ever popular 1,2 and 3 bedroom family units. These family units are a great hit all year round with our seasonal heated pool, spa pool, childrens play area and covered gas BBQ area also.Adjacent to the Redwood Forest, and situated between Lakes Rotorua and Tarawera, we are ideally placed for the walker and angler. With an acre of gardens to sit in after a hectic day, and plenty of space to park the boat, we also have a seasonal heated swimming pool and spa, as well as a trampoline and swings for the children - secure and away from the road. |

We are situated adjacent to the Redwoods (Whakarewarewa Forest)with the visitor centre being a short walk away. We are an 8KM drive from the Blue and Green Lakes, the Burried Village is a little further along the same road as is the Mount Tarawera lookout and Lake Tarawera itself. Okere Falls is just 15 minutes drive from here. A visit would not be complete without sampling our Maori culture (hangi and concert), FREE pickups from our motel. For a great view of the city try the Skyline Skyride, where you can also enjoy great food, or try the luge rides. Visit the Agrodome, Paradise Valley & Fairy Springs, Te Puia thermal park, plus much more. Further a field, we can book Jet Boating, Dolphin Watching or even a trip to White Island (New Zealand's only active marine volcano) We can book the many attractions in advance for you if need be.
Transportation - Santa Maria Motel Rotorua
We are a 5 minute drive towards the Town Centre from Rotorua International Airport. We are just 100 mtrs from where Tarawera Road meets Te Ngae Road at the roundabout. If you are travelling South from Auckland, follow the Whakatane signs through Rotorua, when you leave the City Centre, we will be 3-4 minutes on your left hand side, just past the Ngapuna shops and before the roundabout. If you are travelling North from the Taupo area, turn right at the first roundabout in Rotorua, follow the road to the end and then turn right, we are situated a couple of minutes on the left hand side.
