The onsite River Valley Spa, with it's two saunas, riverside hot tub, and massage therapist, is the perfect place to relax after a days adventuring.

Accommodation options at the Lodge include either garden or riverside deluxe rooms, each with a very comfortable king sized bed,and under floor heating in the ensuite area.

The River Valley Restaurant serves a selection of wholesome freshly made dishes, with many salad vegetables grown on site.

    White Water Rafting - a great activity for the adventurous. Raft the Grade 5 section of the Rangitikei River, one of NZ's premier white water runs. Qualmarked Scenic Rafting - This is an excellent trip for families orthe less adventurous. Glide through beautiful river canyons, run numerous small fun rapids, stop for a picnic lunch on the river bank. Qualmarked Horse Trekking - River Valley Stables is situated in Rangitikei hill country. Our treks and trail rides, ranging from 2 hour to full day, take in magnificent scenery, with incredible views of the Ruahine Ranges, the central North Island mountains of Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe, and the Rangitikei River. Rangitikei Headwaters - This, our deluxe trip, is a 4 day river expedition to the headwaters of the Rangitikei River. Fly in by helicopter, raft or duckie, enjoy the isolation, scenery, company and food. Golf - Play River valley!     Transportation - River Valley Lodge Taihape


    If you are traveling South, turn left at the River Valley signpost, 18km after Waiouru. If you are traveling North, use the Gretna Hotel in Taihape as your starting point, the 32km drive will last around 35 minutes after taking you through some of New Zealand's finest and most picturesque hill country. Please follow the River Valley signs, or yellow finger signposts. After turning off State Highway 1, you will cross two bridges coming from Waiouru, and three bridges coming from Taihape. The last 1.5 km's are gravel and take you to the Lodge at the end of the road.
