Hotel Overview : Portmarnock Hotel and Golf LinksThis luxury hotel is situated in some of Dublin's most beautiful surroundings, fronting onto the sandy beach and overlooking the Irish Sea. The hotel is only about 40 min drive from the city centre. The centre of Portmarnock, with its nightclub, station and beach, is 5 minutes away by car and it is a 10-min drive to Malahide, where guests will find shops, bars and restaurants. Dublin airport is around 8 km from the hotel.The hotel has incorporated the old house into the new building and comprises a total of 137 bedrooms, overlooking the sea on one side and with garden/ golf course views on the other side. Facilities on offer at this historical beachside golf hotel include air conditioning, a lobby area with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom, a lift, a cafe, a bar and a restaurant. Conference facilities, Internet access with WLAN access points, room and laundry services and a car park are also on hand. The rooms offer an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, broadband Internet access, a direct dial telephone, nightly turndown service, a trouser press, cable TV, a safe in the Executive rooms, tea and coffee making facilities, a selection of in-room magazines, a clock/ alarm, a minibar (on request). A double bed, an ironing set and centrally regulated air conditioning and heating are also provided in all accommodation as standard. The hotel's own Golf Links, designed Bernhard Langer, is a championship course which makes full use of the surrounding dunes and natural terrain to provide a layout that will please the most ardent of golf fans. Not to mention the characteristic Links sea breezes, which ensure that guests will be all the more fulfilled by the unique challenge before them. The Oceana Spa, meanwhile, offers three luxurious treatment rooms with a sauna, a nail bar, a hairdresser, a gym, and a bathing ritual balneotherapy room (charges apply for all treatments). The hotel also features a sun terrace and there are massage treatments on offer. The recently revamped Osborne Brasserie overlooking the landscaped central courtyard garden. Named after the artist Walter Osborne who painted the very view from the hotel. Dine on delicious locally sourced cuisine. The Jameson Bar, in the old house, with its original oak panelling and high ceilings, is the ideal venue for a leisurely drink. The Cocktail Bar overlooks the sea with its magnificent view of Ireland's Eye - one of the country's best known landmarks. Guests may select their breakfast from a continental buffet and the midday and evening meals are may be ordered la carte or from a set menu. Special dietary requirements may be catered for and guests may take advantage of special offers. |
