A car is the best way to enjoy the countryside in this land of Armagnac, foie gras and vineyards. Condom, Eauze and Auch are the nearest towns. The Abbaye de Flaran with its exhibition of portraiture is within walking distance. Larresingle village, the chateau at Lavardens, the circular bastide of Fources and the collegial at La Romieu are all a short drive away.The property comprises of 4 spacious rooms each with modern private bathrooms. Each has its own style and finish. Two rooms with double beds, a twin room and a suite make up the comfortable accommodation. La Maison des Lys is a comfortable English run B&B in a 200 year old maison de maitre’ (merchants house) in the centre of a fortified bastide village surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. The house is tastefully furnished throughout and there is a comfortable guest salon. In the summer breakfast is taken in the flower filled garden set within the ancient fortifications. |
