Gaia Hostel Budapest

Hotel Overview : Gaia Hostel Budapest

Stay at the Gaia Hostel when you are backpacking in Hungary. It’s an affordable Budapest guest house on the Pest side of the Danube, in the 7th district of the city, called Erzsebetvaros. The Gaia Hostel offers a nice mixture of private rooms and individual beds in dorm-style rooms. The reception desk is staffed each day between 9 a.m. and noon and again between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., but guests can enter the property at any time using the entrance code provided to them. As a guest, you can use the property’s laptop or your own computer to go online with free Wi-Fi internet access. The Erzsebetvaros district includes the historic Jewish quarter of Pest. Just 5 blocks west of the Gaia Hostel is the Dohany Street Synagogue, sometimes called the Great Synagogue because it is the largest functioning synagogue in Europe. Within the complex are the Jewish Museum, the Heroes' Temple, and Raoul Wallenberg Holocaust Memorial Park. To the east of the guest house is Lujza Blaha Square (Blaha Lujza ter), a major public transportation junction and the home of the 111-year-old New York Cafe. To the north is Andrassy Avenue ( Andrassy ut), an elegant boulevard that’s a major shopping street.
