Hotel Overview : Escorted Tours The Donkey Express Hotel Washington D.CDay 1 – Friday – New York City – Amish Country – Washington DC Today we will depart New York City heading south to enjoy a day filled with Hershey kisses and a life of simplicity. After breakfast we begin the travels to Washington D. C. before arriving we will drive through one of the oldest Amish settlement in the United States, where you will have the opportunity to take pictures. We continue towards the town of York where you will tour the Famous Harley Davidson. Next stop Hershey Pennsylvania known as the sweetest place on the earth. We will visit the town made famous by Milton S. Hershey, where the street lights are shaped like Hershey’s kisses and the air is filled with the sweet smell of chocolate. Overnight: L’Enfant Plaza (formerly known as Loews) or Similar Meals: Full American Breakfast Day 2 – Saturday – Washington DC This is the day for the Historic Connoisseur. We begin with a four hour scenic tour of the inspirational and heroic memorials and monuments such as the Arlington National Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam War to name a few. The tour continues passing the White House and US Capitol Building; where we will make a brief stop for pictures. In the afternoon you will visit the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, featuring must-see icons from the history of flight and space exploration. On display is the very first Wright brother’s airplane, the Apollo 11 command module “The Columbia†and hundreds of other historic finds like the spacesuits worn by the first humans to go to the moon. We will end the day with the Georgetown by Night Tour enjoying the views of the Potomac River waterfront along the University, the Old Stone House and many of the high-end shops, bars and restaurants Overnight: L’Enfant Plaza (formerly known as Loews) or Similar Meals: Full American Breakfast Day 3 – Sunday – Washington DC – Philadelphia – New York All good things must come to an end…but not until we stop in the City of Brotherly Love. This morning we travel back to New York City via Philadelphia. While in Philadelphia we will visit the Independence National Historical Park which spans over 20 city blocks and includes sites of the First and Second Banks of the United States, Congress Hall, Old City Hall and Liberty Bell (known to have summoned the citizens of Philadelphia for the reading of the Declaration of Independence).
