Orford is a pleasant seaside town popular for pretty Spring Beach and its proximity to the prolific wildlife and colonial heritage of Maria Island, which you can visit by passenger ferry from nearby Triabunna. Close to Orford, take the scenic short-cut to the Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur Historic Site, the Wielangta Forest Reserve, where pockets of rainforest and towering blue gums surround a bridge made of impressive logs. An easy walk through the forest takes you to the foot of the bridge, where you can view its interesting construction. |
