Valley of the Rainbows Oahu Small Group Adventure

Put on your walking shoes and take an easy, small group stroll through lush rainforest deep within the beautiful Valley of the Rainbows on Oahu. You'll enjoy a personalized experience on this exclusive small group tour - maximum tour number is 14 - and all hiking equipment is provided.

Led by your expert hiking guide, this four-hour small group trek takes you off the beaten track to explore Oahu's tropical natural beauty. There's no need to pack any extra gear, as you'll enjoy free use of a backpack, flashlight, binoculars, walking staff and raingear. While you stroll, you'll learn about Oahu's fascinating geology, natural history and ecosystems from your expert guide.

First stop is Lyon Arboretum, one of the world's premier botanical gardens. Nestled below towering trees and surrounded by seven waterfalls, this exotic rainforest paradise features the largest collection of palm tree varieties on earth. The arboretum is home to many rare and endangered native Hawaiian plants, and a special area is devoted to species used by the ancient Polynesians.

Next, you'll visit the picturesque Chinese Great Ancestors Mound, perched high on a green hill in the heart of the valley. These ancient emerald-green hills have witnessed a steady procession of cultivation on the valley floor, from Hawaiian taro farms to cattle ranches, coffee plantations and Japanese rice paddies. Traveling through the historic valley you'll have excellent photographic opportunities, and learn about the fascinating local history and mythology.

You will then visit Pu'u Uala'kaa, perched above the glistening waters of Waikiki. From this lofty vantage point, where Elvis Presley had a picnic lunch in the movie Blue Hawaii, you will have breathtaking 180-degree panoramic views of Oahu's scenic south-east coastline. Perhaps you'll even see a glistening double rainbow arching across the Valley of the Rainbows far below!
