Moreton Island Full-Day 4WD Tour
Cruise out to Moreton Island National Park from Brisbane or the Gold Coast for a full day, experiencing beautiful beaches, fresh water lakes, forests, and giant sand dunes. Only accessible by 4WD, you're guided adventure tour includes sand tobogganing, body surfing and a picnic lunch.
Wanna go sand tobogganing, boogie boarding and body surfing on Moreton Island? Travel around the island by 4WD, and spot whales and dolphins? You'll enjoy an adrenaline-fuelled day to remember on this action-packed 4WD tour of Moreton Island.
Your day starts with a luxury cruise across beautiful Moreton Bay to Moreton Island. On arrival, you'll board your 4WD and drive off the ferry directly on to the beach. Moreton Island is the world's third largest sand island and so 4WD is the only 'way to get around!
Your first priority is to get straight into sand boarding and tobogganing. It's awesome high-speed fun but has to be done early in the day, as summer temperatures can reach 36 degrees.
Next, you'll cross the island to Open Beach, 23 miles (38 kilometers) of uninterrupted surf beach, and go boogie boarding and body surfing at North Point and Honeymoon Bay's safe surf beaches. To get there you'll travel through thick eucalyptus forest dotted with grass trees up to 250 years old.
After a picnic lunch you'll set off to Cape Moreton Lighthouse for commanding views across Moreton Island to the Glass House Mountains. Look out to sea and you might spot dolphins, turtles and whales (from June to October). Moreton Island is also home to hundreds of bird species, including pelicans and wading birds.
Your last stop is Blue Lagoon, one of Moreton Island's beautiful freshwater lakes, where you'll take a dip to soak up the naturally occurring tea-tree oils (known as the fountain of youth).
