2-Day Uluru (Ayers Rock) to Alice Springs Red Centre Explorer Tour

The majestic red dome of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the many smaller domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) have stood for thousands of years. You really need at least two days to appreciate the countless Dreamtime stories and the many colors and endless views of this special place - from the caves and rock paintings at the base of Uluru, to the Mutitjulu Waterhole and the 36 domes rocky domes of the Olgas.

This two-day independent coach tour includes meet and greet at Ayers Rock Airport with a transfer to your hotel, the highlights of Uluru (Ayers Rock), including an overnight at Ayers Rock Resort in your choice of accommodation. Experience the majesty of this monolith and the neighboring Olgas, before traveling by luxury coach to Alice Springs.

Day 1. Cultural Centre, Base Tour, Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunset

Arrive at Ayers Rock Airport before 1.00 p.m. and be transferred to your hotel. You'll enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and visit the Cultural Centre. Take a guided walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu, viewing cave paintings and learn about Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Then join the Mala Walk and tour the base of Uluru, stopping at Kantju Gorge. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine while watching the sun set over Uluru. Tonight perhaps enjoy the Uluru Aussie Barbecue (at own expense, payable direct)

You have a choice of accommodation on this tour at Ayers Rock. Select between standard, first class or deluxe accommodation categories.

Day 2. Uluru Sunrise & Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Alice Springs

Rise early and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee as you watch the sunrise at Uluru. Travel to the giant domes of Kata Tjuta. These 36 giant rocky domes, thought to have once been a single rock many times the size of Uluru, support an array of native fauna and flora. Take a guided walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Keep an eye out for ancient petroglyphs (stone carvings) along the creek bed. This afternoon, view Atila (Mt Conner) rising above the desert plain as you travel to Alice Springs, arriving at 6.30 p.m.
