The Rocks Homestay Punakaiki

Hotel Overview : The Rocks Homestay Punakaiki

Peg and Kevin at The Rocks Homestay B&B offer a distinctive bed and breakfast experience in a unique wilderness setting at Punakaiki, on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.   The Pancake Rocks, the Blowholes, and the limestone landscape of the Paparoa National Park are right there.
Huge windows provide astounding panoramas in all directions.  Set on a headland above the sub-tropical rainforest, 'The Rocks'  B&B commands views of the Tasman Sea, the coast, and the limestone cliffs which rise steeply only a few hundred metres behind the house.   The land around is covered with luxuriant forest, with many tree ferns, palms and flax bushes.
The Rocks Homestay B&B makes an ideal base from which to hike in the National Park, explore the limestone gorges, walk on remote beaches, venture into caves, experience the vegetation, listen to the birds, photograph the sunsets.
The Rocks Homestay B&B accommodation has three guest rooms:
· Room 1 has twin-single beds and ensuite bathroom. It has a deck which opens out to the native rainforest, with views of the sea.
· Room 2 has a Queen bed and ensuite facilities. It also has a private conservatory which opens out to the native bush. There is a sofa in the conservatory.
· Room 3 has a queen size bed and ensuite facilities. Sliding doors open to a conservatory on the balcony with stunning views of the coast to the south and the cliffs behind the house.

Transportation - The Rocks Homestay Punakaiki

From the Pancake Rocks and Visitors Centre, head north on SH6 towards Westport for 3 kms. A large blue sign indicates motel, homestay and backpacker accommodation. Turn left into Hartmount Place, which is a narrow lane that looks much like a driveway to a private house. Go all the way to the bottom of the road, turning right at bottom of the hill. The Rocks has a green roof and sign at the gate.
