Quince Cottage is situated on two acres with over an acre of fruit trees, lovely grounds and gardens and exquisite views of Watervale and the surrounding vineyards. It is equipped with the best of everything.

An original 1920¿s sandstone cottage has been painstakingly renovated to the highest possible standards. Quince consists of a gourmet kitchen and dining area, double size lounge room with open fire, two Queen-size bedrooms, the master with en-suite. The main bathroom has a spa and secret garden. There is a large front verandah, rear patio with BBQ, and garage.

The kitchen is has every thing you could possibly need, stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, under-bench oven, and cook-top, range hood microwave oven, etc. The crockery is high quality china, Stanley Rogers cutlery, European glassware, stainless steel Miska pots and pans, Mundial Knives, the works.

There is a luxury spa bath that looks into a secret, and completely private, Japanese garden. The spa is set in a giant window which protrudes into the enclosed garden; this allows for a glass roof, so guests can sit in the spa and contemplate the sun or the moon. In the secret garden there are large trees, illuminated by pin lights, a running water pond with a Japanese water feature, white stones and everything to create a peaceful and romantic setting (very Zen)

There are two large bedrooms with large fitted robes, plenty of hanging space and storage areas. The beds are antique, black metal, Victorian and Queen-size. The linen is all first class, Sheridan and above.

The furnishings are a mixture of antiques and Australian crafted new pieces. Original art adorns the walls, mostly by local artists.

In the lounge there is a large wood fired combustion stove, the lounge suite is high quality leather and is very comfortable and welcoming. In addition to the traditional games and books, there are all the creature comforts, such as a Panasonic 72cms TVC with a DVD and VCR plus a Sony stereo and CD. There is also a small library of DVD and VHS Movies, CD's and tapes.

There is a fully equipped laundry, with top level equipment, Washers, dryers, irons, etc.

A vine-covered pergola covers the paved courtyard, patio area. There is a teak outdoor setting, with a market umbrella, and a BBQ. This area overlooks a beautiful garden and is both private and very attractive. There is large verandah at the front of the house and this is a perfect spot to sip local wine and watch the sun set over the Watervale valley.

Guests can stroll through an acre orchard of apple, pear, cherry, and Quince trees that are on the property.

Quince Cottage is fully air-conditioned and has ample undercover guest parking.

Quince Cottage is in Watervale and is walking distance from three wineries (four if you don't mind a 15 minute walk) a local shop and post office, a beautiful nursery and coffee venue, an antique store and the Watervale Hotel.

It has great views, and is very private and quiet.

    Guests should park in the garage at Quince Cottage, which is the second entrance into the property as you drive up South Road from the Main North Road.

    Walk or ride the Riesling Trail. Stroll to Stephen John, Clos Clare or Annies Lane Winneries, or take a drive or a chauffeured tour to visit the many other wineries scattered through the valley. Take a trip to the new wave of olive oil and fresh olive producers, and taste their various products. Dine in the Valley¿s many restaurants, cafe's and winery eateries. Admire the unspoilt Victorian buildings in Watervale, Auburn, Mintaro or the other villages in the Clare Valley. Pick through the art galleries and artists studios. The Clare Valley has a large community of extremely talented artists, such Julie- Anne Pulford, Harry Sherwin, Murray Edwards, etc. There are also many antique shops to pick through for the one item that may complete your collection. However, don't forget to relax and enjoy the luxury of Quince. Soak in the spa looking into the secret Japanese garde. Dine al fresco under the vine covered pergola. In Winter what could be more enjoyable than to relax in front of the fire? In Summer, just enjoy the beautiful garden and view across the valley, or loll in the sun on the lounges.     If coming from Adelaide. take first left after the Watervale township sign. The turn off is South Road and it is opposite the Morella Nursery. Keep going up the hill and you will see Quince Cottage on the left as you drive up the side of the valley
