You might even spot the Azure (Blue) Kingfisher. Remember the area also has a population of the endangered Mallee-Fowl. We know where a nest is and you may spot the male tending to it. The area is becoming more and more popular with artists and photographers who find the colours and contrasts exciting. Have you seen Pink Lake. Try a photo at sunset. Well there is fishing (yellowbelly, redfin, catfish) all caught in the Wimmera River. You could paddle your own canoe along the calm waters of the River or set up a BBQ or picnic along its banks. Some enjoy 4 Wheel Driving over the sand dunes as a practice on their way to the Flinders Ranges. Other just enjoy cycling around the river flats on well made flat roads.
