Hotel Overview : Pelican Bay at LucayaLocationThe hotel is situated on Bell Channel Bay, right in the heart of Grand Bahama Island. The beach is just 300 m away. Over 30 restaurants are located within a short walk of the resort, including the hotel's award-winning Ferry House Restaurant, bars, shops and nightly live entertainment. Facilities One of Grand Bahama Island's newest boutique hotels, here visitors will find the finest combination of Caribbean and European architecture and service. Awarded the prestigious "Small Treasures of the Bahamas" prize by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, this hotel, with its 182 rooms and suites, is both charming and intimate. Renovated in 2005, it is fully air-conditioned and offers a range of facilities including an entrance hall with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, lift access, a hairdresser, Internet access/ WLAN, a laundry service, a cycle hire service, a children's playground and parking for those arriving by car. Rooms The pool marina view rooms feature one king-size bed or two double beds, a private veranda or balcony with two teak or rattan chairs and a cocktail table. They are around 640 square feet in size. There is a large entry/ dressing area, the floor is tiled and the rooms are decorated with yellow walls and light-coloured wood furniture. There is a two-chair dining set and a reading chair, as well as a wet bar and a compact refrigerator. The en suite bathroom features a shower/ bathtub combination. There are ceiling fans along with individually adjustable air conditioning, and guests can make use of the wireless Internet access (surcharge applies). A hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, a satellite television, a radio, a minibar, a microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, a double or king-size bed and a safe also come as standard. Sports/Entertainment The hotel offers two outdoor swimming pools, complete with sun loungers and parasols. There is also a Jacuzzi and facilities for tennis and aerobics. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for riding, jet skiing and water skiing. Close by guests can take advantage of the Dolphin Experience and facilities for scuba diving, snorkelling, trapeze diving and deep-sea fishing. Right across the street guests will find two miles of white sand beach, a full service spa, a facility featuring four "grand slam" surface tennis courts and a casino.
