Queens Park golf course is a five minute walk away. There is the Musuem and Art Gallery which is certainly worth a visit - don't forget to visit the Tuatara's (NZ's living dinosaur) while at the Museum. Queens Park is is lovely place to visit especially for the garden lover, the Aviary at the park has a walk in area where you can really get up close to some of the birds. Anderson's Park Art Gallery has various exhibitions on during the year and is housed in one of Invercargill's stately old homes on beautiful park like grounds. For the sports minded there is often Car Racing on at Teretonga, or visit the Velodrome and have a go at cycling on the Southern Hemisphere's best Velodrome! We have an excellent swimming complex if that's your thing also. There are a number of walks around the city and its outer fringes which are worth exploring. If old vehicles "spin your wheels" then a visit to the Bill Richardson Truck Museum is a must. Visits are by arrangement only but we are happy to organise this for you with some notice. The shopping in Invercargill is very good and there are several great restaurants and cafe's which we are happy to recommend.
