Established in 1865 and fully renovated in 2006, the hotel has an architectural influence of the high Victorian period. At that time Malta was a British colony and many people started imitating British lifestyles, including building stately homes according to British architectural design. This air-conditioned hotel offers 95 comfortable and spacious bedrooms and provides guests facilities including a reception lobby with 24-reception, a currency exchange service, a cloakroom, lift access, and a bar, caf and restaurant. A games room, a TV room, conference facilities, Internet access, a garage and parking facilities, including space for storing bicycles, also feature. For an additional fee guests can use the hotel's room and laundry services and the WLAN Internet connection. The rooms have been especially designed for the traveller who enjoys resting after a full day of activities. All rooms are furnished with an en suite bathroom with a bathtub, a hairdryer, air-conditioning and heating units which can be individually regulated, a direct dial telephone, a radio and satellite/cable TV.
