Set in a 100 acre park and garden, this private home has been lovingly maintained by the Vanssay family since the 14th century and is full of magnificent antiques, oil paintings and rich fabrics are to be found throughout. 3 double rooms and 2 suites all beautifully decorated offer all the modern comforts and a lovely view over the fortifications, garden, valley and pond. Enjoy a candlelit dinner served 3 times a week, with family silver and china, during which Guy and Marnie will happily help you organise your sightseeing. We recommend cycling through the Berce forests with its centennial oak trees, visiting the Romanesque churches of the little Loir valley, discovering the old city of Le Mans, home of the Plantagenet kings, ambling through the romantic gardens of Le Petit Bordeau and Sasnieres, sampling the Jasnieres and other Loire valley wines at the local wineries, visiting the famous Renaissance chateaux as well as the Clos Luce, home of Leonardo da Vinci. |
